Not all of us can get to the gym. However this doesn't mean you can't exercise. There are lots of things around the house that you can use in your workouts. Today I am going to share with you some of my favourites...
Water Bottle
A large water bottle with a handle is a brilliant thing to use to workout. This is because you can change the weight of it as you get stronger. All you have to remember is that 1 litre of water weighs 1kg! Smaller bottles can be used as dumb bells.
Bag of Potatoes
1 Potato may not be heavy, but have you tried carrying a large sack of them? Just make sure the bag they are in is strong and won't break while you are using them! I use these for goblet squats and weighted walks
Watermelon
A large watermelon can weigh about 10kg (weigh it in the supermarket to check). I use them for squat and press and glute bridges. However if watermelons are difficult to find now you can try pumpkins as well
Broom Stick
First of all you need to make sure that you have a good strong broomstick (not a plastic one!) as it has to be able to take your bodyweight. I put it across two chairs and use it for inverted rows (a great exercise for your back and arms)
Stairs
You don't need a treadmill for exercise, you just need a set of stairs. Just try sprinting up a set of stairs 10 times and you will soon feel it (be careful the first few times so you don't trip)! If you don't have any stairs find a small hill or slope near you.
If you have any other items you use for working out at home or any other tips then share them here!
