If you find that you aren't getting the results you want, it may be that you are not doing your workouts correctly. Here are 5 tips to help you have a better workout
Have a Plan
Never go into a workout without knowing what you are going to do. Make sure you know what exercises you want to do, how many reps and sets and what weight you want to use. Also set goals to help improve your performance.
Warm Up
Start each workout with a dynamic, full body warm up. This will help get your blood pumping and warm up your muscles and joints. A good warm up helps prevent injuries and improves performance.
Do Complicated Exercises First
Look at the exercises that you are going to be doing. Make sure you do the most complicated ones first. This is because technique is most important for complicated exercises and as you get tired your technique will get worse. For example squats or deadlifts are more complicated than bicep curls as they use more muscles and require more technique.
Don't train for too long
Try and keep your workouts to a maximum of 45-60 minutes unless you are training for endurance events. After this time you won't really be doing effective exercises and you will just be wasting your time.
Have Fun
Make sure you enjoy your workout. It is so much easier to convince yourself to exercise if it is something you look forward to. Find something you enjoy and keep on doing it!
