Last weekend I did something very silly. I was outside helping my family to pick vegetables from the garden and I forgot to put suncream on! Unfortunately I burnt my back quite badly. Luckily we have some Aloe Vera plants at home and so I had the perfect cure for my burnt back! That is why today I want to tell you about Aloe Vera and how great a plant it is. Number 1 is my favourite!
Aloe Vera heals Burns
Aloe Vera has been used for treating burns for a long time and there are lots of studies showing that it works (it works on sunburn or burns from the kitchen as well!). You don't have to spend lots of money on special creams though. All I did was break off a leaf and squeeze out the liquid from inside to rub on my burns!
Aloe Vera can reduce wrinkles
Some studies have shown that aloe vera gel can increase collagen production when it is applied to the skin. Collagen is extremely important in keeping your skin young and wrinkle free.
Use Aloe Vera as a face wash
Aloe vera gel also helps kill some bacteria which makes it a great face wash for the end of the day. If you mix 1 tsp f baking soda with 2 tsp aloe vera gel then you have a great homemade face wash that will clean and exfoliate your skin!
Make Up Remover
You can also use aloe vera gel to remove make up. Just try squeezing some gel onto a cotton ball and use it to wipe away your make up! Plus get all the benefits of reducing wrinkles and helping clean your skin!
