Christmas is that time of the year when you are with your family and friends, time for christmas parties. We all sit around and eat and drink lots. So how do you survive Christmas without being too unhealthy? Here are some tips in the first part of my holiday survival guide.
You do not need to go to the gym every day over the holidays, but you should try and do some activity. Go for a walk with friends, visit a Christmas market or try a sport like iceskating. This means you can still spend time with your family and friends and you aren't just sitting around doing nothing
If you still want to try and do a workout then try a quick bodyweight HIIT circuit. You can do a workout in 30 minutes and you don't need to go outside if the weather is bad (try any of my videos for inspiration)
Lack of proper sleep is a major cause of weight gain. So make sure you don't overdo it over the holidays and try and get 8 hours of quality sleep as often as you can. Turning off all electronics an hour before you go to bed is a great way to improve your sleep quality
You know you are going to a party in the evening so if you skip breakfast and lunch then you don't need to feel guilt about all those extra calories you eat right? Unfortunately not! What actually happens is you are starving when you turn up so you eat everything in sight, even if you don't really like it. Instead, have a lighter lunch and a small snack before the party and treat yourself to small portions of the things you really like at the party
