Homemade Hot Chocolate

On cold, rainy days I love to curl up in bed and enjoy a cup of hot chocolate. Unfortunately the ready made, instant brands are normally full of added sugar and chemicals. So that is why I am sharing with you my recipe for healthy, homemade, hot chocolate.

Ingredients (1 serving)

  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 tbsp cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp honey
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon

Method

  • whisk together the milk, cocoa powder, vanilla extract and cinnamon in a bowl until there are no lumps left
  • heat the mixture in a saucepan over a low heat (do not boil it)
  • add the honey and stir in
  • serve the hot chocolate in your favourite mug!
