Last week when I visited friends, I got inspired as we made homemade pizza on the grill so I tried it myself (I tried to make it with rye flour but that didn't work ) with spelt wholegrain flour and it worked out great
You need:
- 500g spelt wholegrain flour
- 1 tsp salt
- 10g dry yeast
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 2 tbsp natural yogurt
- 250ml warm water
How to do it:
- mix flour and salt and then add all other ingredients and mix together with your hand until the dough stops being sticky
- cover the dough and let it raise in a warm place for about 45min
- take the dough out of the bowl, and form into a long roll and cut into 4 pieces
- form each into a little ball, cover it and let it raise for about 20-30 mins
- take one piece of dough and form into a flat pizza
- put baking sheet on a baking dish and put the pizza dough on top
- put on toppings of your choice (i used garlic, salt pepper, 1 tsp olive oil, homemade tomato base, mozzarella cheese, fresh basil, baby spinach, tomato, onion, mushrooms, oregano, coriander)
- put into preheated oven for 250'C and bake for about 10-15mins (depending on your oven)
- enjoy
As I made enough dough for 4 pizzas and cooked only one, I froze those other 3. Carry on as you did with the first pizza, just without the toppings and bake for only 5 minutes. Let it cool down, wrap up and put into the freezer. When you fancy pizza again, just defrost the dough, add toppings, bake it and it's done
If you are going to try this recipe, let me know how you get on or if you have any other great recipes, share it with us, I would love to try
